The move into leadership is the point at which the skills that earned the promotion stop being the ones the job requires, and for many women it arrives alongside being the first or only in the room. This course covers both. Delegates work through the shift from doing to leading, and the work that must now be delegated even when you could do it faster. Setting direction for a team and communicating it follows. Delegation, feedback and the difficult conversation are practised, since these are the skills new leaders most commonly avoid. Building authority when you are younger, newer or different from those around you is addressed directly. Managing former peers is covered. Visibility is treated practically as making work known without performing. Networks and support are covered. The course closes on the first ninety days and on the habits that make the next step possible.
