How we collect, use and protect your personal information when you visit this website, enquire about a course, or register for training.

Last updated: August 2026

AfriScience Group ("AfriScience Group", "we", "us" or "our") is a training and consulting provider based in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it responsibly, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what information we collect, how and why we use it, and the rights you have over it.

Information we collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly to us, and limited technical information collected automatically when you use this website.

  • Form data: when you submit an enquiry, registration or proposal request form, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, organisation and the training you are interested in.
  • Anonymous analytics: aggregated, non-identifying information about how visitors use this website, such as which pages are viewed and general device type, collected through privacy-friendly analytics.

How and why we use your information

We use the personal information you submit to respond to enquiries, process course registrations, prepare corporate training proposals, confirm bookings, and communicate with you about the training you have requested. We use aggregated analytics information to understand how our website is used and to improve its content and performance. We do not use your personal information for automated decision making that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.

Lawful basis for processing

We process your personal information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement with you, such as when you ask for a course registration or a proposal, and to perform that agreement once you have registered or booked. Where processing is not necessary for these purposes, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by contacting us using the details below.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold against loss, unauthorised access, misuse and disclosure. Access to personal information is limited to staff and service providers who need it to carry out the purposes described in this policy.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us operate this website and deliver our services, such as the provider that delivers our enquiry and registration form submissions to us by email, and the provider that hosts this website. These service providers are only permitted to use your information to provide the service we have engaged them for.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses privacy-friendly analytics to understand overall visitor traffic and improve the site. This analytics approach does not build an advertising profile of you, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use your browsing activity on this site for third party advertising purposes.

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining a record of your training history with us, and for any longer period required to meet our legal, accounting or reporting obligations. Where information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Your rights under POPIA

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you and to access that information.
  • Ask us to correct or update personal information that is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated.
  • Ask us to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to any legal retention requirements.
  • Object to the processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing purposes.
  • Withdraw any consent you have previously given, at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator if you believe your rights under POPIA have not been respected.

The Information Regulator (South Africa) can be contacted directly if you wish to lodge a complaint about how your personal information has been handled.
