Procurement and MaterialsSupplier Quality Management and Development
Quality problems arriving from a supplier are usually discovered at goods receipt or, worse, in the customer's hands, by which point the cheapest opportunity to prevent them has long passed. This course moves the effort upstream. Delegates work through supplier qualification and capability assessment before an order is placed, quality requirements written into the contract so they can be enforced, and first article and pre production approval. Incoming inspection and the alternatives to inspecting everything are covered. Non conformance handling, corrective action and the response that indicates a supplier will actually fix something follow. Supplier development and audit are addressed. The course closes on measuring supplier quality and acting on the measurement.
