Procurement and MaterialsSpend Analysis and Procurement Cost Reduction
Most organisations cannot say what they spend, with whom, on what, because the data sits across systems in inconsistent categories, and savings claimed without that baseline are usually unverifiable. This course covers building the baseline and then acting on it. Delegates work through data extraction and cleansing, classification and the taxonomy that makes spend comparable, and the analyses that reveal opportunity: concentration, fragmentation, maverick spend and price variance for the same item. Opportunity assessment and prioritisation follow. Savings methodology is treated seriously, including the difference between cost reduction, cost avoidance and a budget that was simply overstated. The course closes on tracking savings to the financial statements.
