Security Awareness and Social Engineering Defence

Attackers target people because it works, and awareness programmes fail when they blame the person who clicked rather than fix the conditions that made clicking reasonable. This course covers building a programme that changes outcomes. Delegates work through the social engineering techniques in current use, phishing, pretexting, business email compromise and voice and message based attacks, and why each succeeds against competent people. Programme design is covered: content, frequency, targeting and the simulation testing that helps rather than humiliates. Reporting culture receives full attention, since a fast report limits damage. The course closes on measuring behaviour rather than completion, and on the technical controls that must sit behind any awareness effort.
