Health, Safety and SecurityRoad Transport and Driver Safety Management
For many organisations the most dangerous thing an employee does is drive, and the risk sits outside the fence where the usual controls do not reach. This course covers managing it anyway. Delegates work through journey risk assessment and the question of whether a trip is necessary at all, driver selection, licensing and competence, and fatigue management including hours, scheduling and the limits of countermeasures. Vehicle selection, maintenance and defect reporting are covered. In vehicle monitoring and telematics are addressed practically, including using the data to coach rather than to punish. The course closes on incident investigation, on load security, and on managing contractor and third party drivers.
