Oil, Gas and PetrochemicalsOffshore Platform Operations and Supervision
On an offshore installation the supervisor runs a small town as well as a plant, with helicopters, supply vessels, cranes, crews and contractors all competing for the same deck space and the same permit desk. This programme is about that supervisory job. Sessions cover the installation organisation and the duties of the person in charge, then permit to work, isolations and the control of simultaneous operations, shift handover and the daily planning meeting. Marine and aviation logistics, lifting, personnel on board limits and bed management follow. Emergency command is treated in depth: muster, abandonment, fire and gas response and the chain of authority. The final sessions address crew performance, fatigue on long rotations and contractor oversight. Supervisors return offshore ready to run a shift with firm control of both the installation and its people.
