Mine and Industrial Site Security Operations

An industrial site loses far more to organised removal of copper, fuel, spares and product than to opportunistic theft, and the people doing it usually have legitimate access. This course is built for that reality. Delegates work through site threat assessment, covering theft of high value commodities, illegal mining incursion, sabotage and community conflict. Zoning and access layering are addressed, separating public, operational and high value areas with the controls each needs. Personnel and vehicle searching are covered, including search authority, dignity and the search that is thorough enough to deter. Product and scrap control follow, since scrap yards and waste flows are a common removal route. Weighbridge and dispatch controls are addressed. Contractor and supplier access is covered, as contractors carry much of the insider risk. Illegal mining and incursion response is addressed where relevant. Community relations are treated as a security control rather than a public relations activity. Firearm and use of force policy is covered where armed response exists. The course closes on incident reporting and on measuring security performance.
