Most people running projects are running several at once with shared people, and the techniques written for a single dedicated project team do not survive that. This course addresses the real situation. Delegates work through prioritisation when everything is urgent, resource contention across projects and how to make it visible rather than absorbed by individuals, and the planning horizon that multiple concurrent projects allow. Switching cost and its effect on delivery are covered. Escalation to a sponsor who must choose between their own priorities is practised. The course closes on saying no defensibly and on protecting delivery when the portfolio is overcommitted.
