Maintenance Management

Maintenance Supervisor Development

Maintenance supervisors are promoted for being the best technician and then judged on scheduling, safety, cost and people, none of which the previous job taught them. This course covers the transition. Delegates work through the supervisor's actual role and the shift from doing the work to enabling it, daily planning and the allocation of a crew against a schedule that will change by mid morning, and holding people to standards including safety and quality. Managing a former peer group is addressed directly. Cost awareness, labour and materials control, and the reporting a supervisor owns are covered. Contractor supervision follows. The course closes on developing technicians, on difficult conversations, and on escalating what cannot be resolved at the front line.
