Logistics and Supply ChainHumanitarian and Emergency Logistics
Emergency logistics operates where the infrastructure is damaged, the demand is unknown and the cost of arriving late is measured in lives rather than in penalties. This course covers working under those conditions. Delegates work through assessment and estimating need from incomplete information, procurement under emergency rules and the accountability that still applies, and the pipeline from source through port and corridor to distribution point. Warehousing and last mile distribution in constrained settings are covered. Fleet, fuel and security follow. Coordination between agencies and with government is addressed, since duplication and gaps are the standard failure. The course closes on accountability to affected people and on transition from emergency to recovery.
