Governance and ComplianceFinancial Risk, Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving
This course combines financial risk assessment with the structured problem solving needed to address its causes. Delegates work through credit, market, liquidity and operational risk, the measurement approaches used for each, and the control environment that contains them. The problem solving half applies root cause techniques to financial control failures: reconciliation breaks, unexplained variances, recurring losses and control overrides. Delegates work on real failure scenarios and practise distinguishing a symptom from a cause, which in financial control is usually the difference between a fix that holds and one that produces the same loss again the following quarter.
