The month end close consumes the finance team's capacity in a burst that leaves no time for analysis, and it takes as long as it does because of decisions made throughout the month rather than during the close itself. This course shortens it. Delegates work through the close calendar and task dependencies, the sub ledger to general ledger reconciliations that most often hold everything up, and accruals, provisions and cut off with the judgement each involves. Intercompany reconciliation and elimination are covered, since they routinely stall a group close. Review controls and the evidence that a number was actually checked follow.
