Corruption rarely arrives as a bribe in an envelope; it arrives as a supplier nobody can trace, a payment approved by somebody with no authority, and a board that received a report saying everything was in order. This course covers closing those gaps. Delegates work through board oversight and the questions a board must ask rather than accept answers to, the governance codes and what they require in practice, and delegation of authority as the control that decides who can commit the organisation. Conflict of interest declaration and management follow. The mechanisms corruption actually uses are covered: procurement, recruitment, related party transactions and facilitation payments. Whistleblowing and investigation are addressed. The course closes on consequence management, without which every other control is advisory.
