Governance and ComplianceCombined Assurance and the Three Lines Model
Boards receive assurance from internal audit, risk, compliance, quality, safety and external auditors, and commonly cannot tell which risks are covered twice and which are not covered at all. This course builds the map. Delegates work through the three lines model and what each line is actually responsible for, assurance mapping across risks and providers, and the identification of gaps and duplication. Coordination between assurance providers is covered, including the independence constraints that limit it. Reporting a combined assurance view to an audit committee is practised. The course closes on maturity assessment and on the honest conversation about where assurance is weakest, which is the point of the exercise.
