Behaviour Based Safety and Safety Culture

Behaviour based programmes fail when they become a way of counting unsafe acts by workers while leaving the conditions that produce them untouched, and they succeed when observation is a conversation rather than an inspection. This course covers the difference. Delegates work through the behavioural model and what actually drives behaviour at work, observation and feedback technique that people do not resent, and the data those observations produce. The link between behaviour and the conditions management controls is treated directly. Safety culture maturity is covered, along with measuring it honestly. Leadership behaviour receives full attention. The course closes on implementing a programme and on the failure modes that turn it into paperwork.
