Tax and LegalBanking and Financial Services Regulation
Financial services are licensed activities, and doing one without authorisation, or outside the terms of the licence held, is an offence rather than a commercial misstep. This course maps the framework. Delegates work through the licensing regime and which activities require authorisation, prudential requirements including capital and liquidity at the level a non specialist needs, and conduct requirements covering advice, disclosure and treating customers fairly. Consumer credit regulation is covered, including affordability assessment and reckless lending. Payments, mobile money and the regulatory questions they raise follow. Supervision, reporting and enforcement are addressed. The course closes on outsourcing, agents and where responsibility for a third party's conduct sits.
