Women on Boards: Directorship Readiness

Board appointments go to people who are known, credible and demonstrably ready, and readiness here means understanding what a director is legally answerable for rather than being senior. This course builds that readiness. Delegates work through the legal duties of a director and the personal liability attaching to them, board structure, committees and the work each does, and reading the financial and risk information a board receives well enough to question it. Contributing in a boardroom is practised, including dissent recorded properly. The appointment process is covered concretely: how vacancies arise, how candidates surface and what a nomination committee looks for. The course closes on due diligence before accepting a seat.
