Wellsite Supervision and Drilling Operations Management

The company representative on a rig carries the operator's authority at two in the morning when the programme no longer fits the hole. Good supervision depends less on knowing every formula and more on reading the situation, controlling contractors and making decisions that can be defended later. Delegates work through the supervisor's day: pre spud meetings, crew handover, the morning call and daily report, and the management of service companies. Programme deviations and management of change, simultaneous operations, permit interfaces and incident response are rehearsed through scenarios. Cost and time tracking against the AFE, service ticket verification and contractor performance reviews follow. The final sessions cover leadership on the rig floor and stop work authority. Delegates leave ready to take charge of a wellsite and its people.
