Tax and LegalTax Incentives, Special Economic Zones and Investment Allowances
African governments offer substantial incentives to attract investment, and businesses regularly fail to claim ones they qualify for while claiming others they cannot support. This course covers getting that right. Delegates work through the incentive types in use, from tax holidays and reduced rates through accelerated allowances to credits and exemptions, and the qualifying conditions attaching to each. Special economic zone regimes are covered, including the customs and tax treatment inside them. Application, approval and the reporting that maintains an incentive follow. Clawback and forfeiture provisions are addressed. The course closes on modelling the value of an incentive honestly and on the substance requirements now applied.
