Process and ChemicalStorage Tank Inspection, Maintenance and Repair
Atmospheric storage tanks hold the largest inventories on most sites and fail through mechanisms that develop invisibly under the floor. This course covers keeping them in service safely. Delegates work through tank types and construction, the degradation mechanisms affecting floor, shell and roof, and the inspection regime including in service and out of service scope. Floor scanning, settlement measurement and shell evaluation are covered practically. Repair and alteration requirements follow, along with the reassessment that governs return to service. The course closes on overfill protection, secondary containment and the emissions controls attaching to tank operation.
Course objectives
- Describe tank types, construction and their weak points
