Short Interval Control and Mine Production Dispatch

Most lost production on a mine is not lost in incidents; it drains away in short delays that nobody records, and by the end of a shift the plan has been missed without a single identifiable event. This course makes those hours visible. Delegates work through the shift plan and the level of detail at which a plan can actually be controlled. Short interval control is covered as a practice: the check frequency, the conversation at each check and the decision authority a supervisor needs to act rather than report. Delay classification and honest recording follow, since a delay coded as something else cannot be fixed. Dispatch systems are addressed, covering truck allocation, queuing and the difference between utilisation and productivity. Key measures are covered: effective utilisation, cycle time, hang time and the arithmetic linking them to tonnes. Constraint identification follows. Shift handover and crew briefing are addressed. The course closes on daily review discipline and on the behaviours that decide whether any of it survives.
