Manufacturing operations depend on accurate production planning to balance demand, capacity and material availability, and the planning run produces confident proposals from master data that is frequently wrong. This course covers both the process and the data behind it. Delegates work through the master data that drives everything, material master, bill of material, routing and work centre, and the consequences of an error in each. Demand management and planning strategies follow, including make to stock and make to order. The requirements planning run is covered in detail, along with reading and acting on its exceptions. Production order lifecycle from creation through release, confirmation and settlement is addressed. The course closes on capacity levelling, backflushing and the variances that appear at order settlement.
