SAP Group Reporting and Financial Consolidation

Consolidation goes wrong in the same few places every period: intercompany balances that do not agree, a currency translation nobody can explain, and a late adjustment posted outside the system. This course addresses each. Delegates work through the consolidation model, including group structure, consolidation units and the hierarchy that reporting depends on. Data collection from source systems and the mapping between local and group charts of account follow. Currency translation is covered in detail, including the rate types applied to each item and where translation differences land. Intercompany elimination and reconciliation are addressed, along with the matching tolerance that decides how much manual work remains. Investment elimination and equity method accounting are covered. Consolidation of investments and changes in group structure during a period follow. Validation rules and the close task list are addressed. The course closes on group reporting output and on the audit trail behind every adjustment.
