SAP CO: Product Costing and Profitability Analysis

Product costing is where a configuration decision made once turns into a margin figure the business trusts for years, and where a wrong overhead assignment quietly misprices an entire product line. This course covers the configuration and the consequence together. Delegates work through the cost object structure and what a cost centre, an order and a cost object each carry, then through material cost estimates, costing variants and the valuation strategy that decides which price is picked. Overhead allocation is covered through cost centre accounting and activity types, including the rates that must be planned before a period can be costed. Work in process and variance calculation follow, with the variance categories explained rather than listed. Settlement to the general ledger is addressed. Profitability analysis is covered on characteristics, value fields and the reports the business will actually read. The course closes on period end close and on reconciling controlling to financial accounting.
