RegTech and SupTech: Digital Supervision and Compliance

Regulatory technology automates compliance obligations on the regulated side, and supervisory technology automates oversight on the regulator's side. This course covers both, and the friction where they meet. Delegates work through automated regulatory reporting, machine readable rulebooks, transaction monitoring and screening at scale, know your customer automation and digital identity, and the supervisory analytics that regulators increasingly run over submitted data. Substantial attention goes to model risk, explainability and the point at which an automated compliance decision must still be defensible to a human supervisor. The regulatory framing is African, with reference to the reporting expectations now emerging across the region.
