Manufacturing and ProductionPolymer Production and Plastics Processing
Polymer properties are set by the reactor and confirmed or destroyed in processing, which makes production and conversion one subject rather than two. This course covers both. Delegates work through polymerisation chemistry and the reactor types used, molecular weight and distribution and how each affects processing behaviour, and catalyst and additive systems. Extrusion, injection moulding and film processes follow, each tied to the polymer properties they demand. Quality testing and specification are covered. The course closes on recycling and circularity, including the contamination and property loss that limit what recycled material can be used for.
Course objectives
