A pipeline is an asset you cannot see, running through land you do not own, and most of what threatens it is either corrosion you cannot observe or a third party with an excavator. This course covers running one. Delegates work through pipeline systems across water, fuel and gas, operating parameters and the hydraulics that govern flow and pressure, and leak detection including the volume balance limits that determine what size leak can actually be found. Corrosion control through coating and cathodic protection follows. Inspection covers in line inspection tools and the anomaly assessment that turns data into a repair decision. Third party damage prevention and right of way management are addressed as the largest single threat. The course closes on emergency response, on repair methods and on regulatory reporting.
