Maintenance ManagementMobile Plant and Heavy Equipment Maintenance
Heavy mobile equipment works in dust, heat and impact away from any workshop, and its maintenance is dominated by contamination, operator practice and the cost of an unplanned recovery. This course covers keeping it available. Delegates work through the major systems including engine, transmission, hydraulics, undercarriage and tyres, and the failure modes and service life of each. Fluid analysis and contamination control are treated as the central preventive discipline. Service scheduling, field servicing and the practicalities of maintaining equipment that cannot come to a workshop follow. Component life and rebuild against replace decisions are covered. Operator practice and its effect on component life is addressed directly. The course closes on availability, cost per hour and fleet replacement timing.
