Mine Surveying and Spatial Data

The survey is the measurement everything else on a mine is reconciled against, from volumes moved to grade delivered to the position of a development end. This course covers the practice. Delegates work through control networks and coordinate systems, the instruments in current use including total station, global navigation satellite systems, laser scanning and unmanned aerial survey, and underground survey technique where satellite positioning is unavailable. Volume calculation and its reconciliation against production records are covered in detail. The course closes on the statutory survey obligations most jurisdictions impose, and on managing spatial data so that models, plans and reality remain the same thing.
