Finance and TreasuryFinancial Products and Derivatives
A working course on the instruments used to raise funding, manage risk and take positions. Delegates cover money market and fixed income instruments, foreign exchange spot forwards and swaps, interest rate derivatives, options and the intuition behind their pricing, and credit instruments. Each product is taught through the exposure it is meant to address, so delegates finish able to select an instrument for a stated hedging need rather than recognise it on a term sheet. The course also covers valuation basics, margin and collateral, accounting treatment and the specific documentation and settlement risks that arise in African markets with thinner liquidity.
