Governance and ComplianceInternal Control Frameworks
Controls are usually inherited as a list of things people do, with no one able to say which risk each addresses or what would happen if it stopped. This course puts that on a proper footing. Delegates work through the components of a recognised control framework and how they connect, control objectives derived from risk rather than from habit, and the difference between preventive, detective and corrective controls. Design effectiveness and operating effectiveness are distinguished, since a well designed control that nobody performs is a finding either way. Testing, evidence and sampling are covered. The course closes on control deficiencies, remediation and on the cost of controlling something twice.
