Hazardous waste remains the generator's responsibility after it leaves the gate, which means a contractor who dumps it has created your liability rather than solved your problem. This course covers that duty. Delegates work through waste classification and characterisation, since treatment and disposal follow from what the waste actually is rather than what it is called. Segregation, labelling and on site storage are covered, including incompatible streams and containment. The duty of care through transport and the documentation that traces a consignment to its destination follow. Treatment and disposal routes are compared, including where local capacity genuinely exists. Contractor selection and verification are addressed directly. Pollution control for air, water and land emissions is covered. The course closes on records, on regulatory reporting and on waste minimisation at source.
