Health, Safety and SecurityHazard Control and Practical Workplace Safety Measures
Most workplace injuries follow a hazard that somebody had already noticed and nobody had converted into a control, which makes the gap between spotting and fixing the thing worth training. This course covers closing it. Delegates work through hazard identification during a walk through, including the hazards familiarity hides, risk assessment proportionate to the work rather than as a paperwork exercise, and the hierarchy of control applied properly, since personal protective equipment is the last resort and the most commonly chosen. Corrective action, ownership and follow through are covered. Safe work procedures and toolbox talks that people listen to follow. Incident and near miss reporting is addressed as the early warning it should be. The course closes on inspections and on holding a standard when nobody is watching.
