Hazard Control and Practical Workplace Safety Measures

This foundational course builds the everyday skills that keep workplaces safe, from spotting hazards during a walk through to selecting the right control and following through on corrective action. It is designed for supervisors and safety representatives who need practical, repeatable methods rather than theory alone, with exercises drawn from warehouses, workshops and light industrial settings common across the region.

Course objectives

  • Conduct systematic workplace hazard walk throughs
  • Rank hazards by likelihood and severity of harm
  • Apply engineering, administrative and personal protective controls appropriately
  • Document corrective actions and track them to closure
  • Involve workers effectively in identifying and controlling hazards
