Good Laboratory Practice: Principles and Documentation

This course equips laboratory personnel with the OECD principles of Good Laboratory Practice and the documentation discipline that underpins credible, auditable results. Participants work through real study plans, raw data handling, and archiving requirements that regulators and international partners expect from African testing and research facilities. Emphasis falls on closing the gap between what a laboratory believes it does and what its records can actually prove.

Course objectives

  • Apply the OECD GLP principles to routine laboratory operations and study conduct
  • Design and maintain study plans, protocols, and standard operating procedures that withstand external audit
  • Distinguish raw data from derived data and apply correct recording and correction practices
  • Establish roles and responsibilities for study directors, principal investigators, and quality assurance staff
  • Prepare archived records that satisfy national regulatory bodies and international accreditation partners

Who should attend

  • Laboratory technicians and analysts in regulated testing facilities
  • Quality assurance officers responsible for GLP compliance
  • Study directors and principal investigators
  • Laboratory managers preparing for regulatory inspection
