Gas turbine maintenance is planned around hot section life and executed in outage windows where a day lost is expensive and a mistake is more expensive still. This course covers the mechanical work. Delegates cover the maintenance philosophy and interval structure, borescope inspection and what it reveals about hot gas path condition, and combustion inspection, hot gas path inspection and major overhaul scopes. Rotor handling, alignment, clearances and bearing work are covered in practical detail, along with auxiliary systems including lubrication, fuel and starting. The course closes on outage planning, spares strategy for long lead components, and the checks before returning a machine to service.
