Financial Strategy

Financial strategy connects an organisation's plans to the capital required to fund them and the returns expected by those providing it. This course covers the decisions involved. Delegates work through capital structure and the trade offs in gearing, the cost of capital and its estimation in markets where the inputs are hard to observe, dividend and distribution policy, funding options and their consequences, and the financial planning that connects strategy to a credible set of numbers. Attention is given to funding constraints in African markets, including limited long term debt availability and the effect of currency on foreign funding.
