This course allocates effort by actual risk. Delegates work through travel risk assessment by destination, covering crime, road safety, health, political instability and the local response capability that determines what help exists. Pre travel preparation follows, including briefings, documentation, medical precautions and the insurance and evacuation cover that must exist before departure. Ground transport is addressed as the largest single risk, covering driver selection, vehicle condition, route planning and the local driving conditions of the region. Accommodation selection and hotel security are covered. Close protection is addressed proportionately: advance work, embus and debus, venue arrival and the low profile posture that usually serves better than a visible detail. Kidnap and express kidnap risk are covered, along with proof of life and family protocols. Communication, tracking and check in procedures follow. The course closes on incident response and crisis management support from head office.
