Electrical maintenance is frequently run to a schedule inherited from a manufacturer's manual, on equipment operating under conditions the manufacturer never assumed. This course covers running it on evidence instead. Delegates work through building an asset register with criticality assessment, selecting a maintenance strategy per asset from run to failure through to condition based, and constructing the inspection and testing programme that follows. Failure analysis is the second half: establishing what actually failed and why, distinguishing a component failure from a system cause, and using failure data to change the strategy. The course closes on measuring maintenance performance and on justifying the budget in terms of avoided loss.
