Cybersecurity and ITDatabase Administration and Performance
A database is where an organisation's records actually live, which makes its administrator the person who can lose everything and the person expected to explain why a report is slow. This course covers both duties. Delegates work through database architecture, storage and the instance configuration that affects everything else, and user, role and privilege administration. Backup and recovery are treated as the core responsibility, including proving a restore rather than assuming one. Performance follows: reading an execution plan, indexing decisions and the trade offs they carry, and diagnosing contention and blocking. Maintenance, statistics and growth management are covered. The course closes on patching, upgrades and high availability arrangements.
