Risk, Compliance and AMLData Analytics for Compliance and Internal Audit
Sampling twenty five transactions made sense when testing meant reading paper, and it makes very little sense when the whole population sits in a database. This course covers testing everything. Delegates work through obtaining a complete and reliable data extract, which is where most analytics work fails, and validating it before drawing any conclusion. Test design follows: duplicate payments, split transactions below approval thresholds, dormant account activity, weekend and after hours entries, and segregation of duties conflicts. Interpreting exceptions is treated carefully, since most are explainable and credibility depends on saying so. Continuous monitoring is covered. The course closes on documenting analytics work to a standard that supports a finding.
