Logistics and Supply ChainDangerous Goods Transport and Handling
Moving dangerous goods is governed by rules that assume nothing about the driver, the loader or the receiver except that they followed the procedure, and a misdeclared consignment removes the protection those rules provide from everyone downstream. This course covers compliance. Delegates work through classification and the nine classes, packing groups and the identification of a substance, and packaging, marking, labelling and placarding requirements. Documentation including the transport document and safety data sheet is covered. Segregation, loading and securing follow. Driver, vehicle and equipment requirements are addressed. The course closes on emergency response, on spill and incident procedure, and on the consequences of a misdeclaration.
