Corrosion is managed on the evidence of monitoring, and monitoring badly placed or badly interpreted produces confidence without protection. This course covers doing it well. Delegates work through the corrosion mechanisms that occur in production and process service, then through the monitoring techniques available: weight loss coupons, electrical resistance and linear polarisation probes, ultrasonic thickness measurement, hydrogen flux and chemical analysis of process fluids. Location selection is treated as the decisive variable, since a probe in the wrong place measures nothing useful. The course covers inhibitor programmes and their verification, and closes on turning monitoring data into an inspection and integrity decision.
