Contractor Safety Management

A large share of serious incidents happen to contractors, often on sites where the client believed safety had been transferred with the contract. This course covers managing that properly. Delegates work through the legal position and where duty actually sits, contractor prequalification and the selection criteria that predict safety performance, and the contractual safety requirements that can be enforced. Induction, permit interfaces and supervision are covered, along with monitoring contractor performance while work proceeds. Incident investigation involving a contractor is addressed, including the awkward questions of control and instruction. The course closes on managing multiple contractors working simultaneously.
