Health, Safety and SecurityCash in Transit and Valuables Handling
Cash in transit attacks are planned, rehearsed and violent, and they target predictability, which means the controls that work are about varying what an attacker can observe rather than about what is carried in the vehicle. This course is built on that. Delegates work through the threat, including how attacks are planned, the surveillance that precedes them and the inside information most rely on. Route and timing variation is addressed as the primary control. Vehicle selection, crewing and the equipment carried are covered. Pavement work is addressed in detail, since the walk between vehicle and premises is where most attacks happen: approach, positioning, cover and the decision not to proceed. Premises handling follows, covering safes, time locks, drop procedures and the dual control that removes single point access. Cash processing and reconciliation are covered. Insider risk is addressed directly, including vetting, rotation and the indicators of collusion. Response to an attack is covered, including compliance rather than resistance. The course closes on incident debriefing and on working with police.
