Cargo and Supply Chain Security

Cargo is stolen where it stops, and on the corridors of this region it stops often: at borders, at weighbridges, at overnight halts and wherever a driver chooses to park. This course works along that route. Delegates work through cargo crime patterns, including hijacking, pilferage, deviation and the documentation fraud that moves a load legitimately into the wrong hands. Consignment risk assessment follows, since a high theft target needs controls a low value load does not. Vehicle and trailer security is covered, including seals, locks, immobilisation and the seal integrity checking that most operations skip. Tracking and monitoring are addressed, including geofencing, stop alerts and the response that must exist for an alert to matter. Driver selection, vetting and duress procedures follow, as insider involvement is common. Route planning and secure parking are covered. Facility security at depots and cross docks is addressed. Customs and border processes are covered as both a delay and a risk point. The course closes on loss investigation, insurance and supply chain security certification.
