Manufacturing and ProductionBlown Film Production and Flexible Packaging
Film is sold by area and costed by mass, so every micron of unnecessary thickness is money leaving the plant on a roll, while a micron too few is a bag that splits at the customer. This course works between those limits. Delegates work through resin selection and the blend behaviour that decides strength, clarity and sealability. Bubble formation is covered in detail: blow up ratio, frost line height, cooling and the stability that determines gauge variation. Gauge control and randomisation follow, since a repeating thick band builds into an unusable roll. Coextrusion and layer structures are addressed for barrier and strength. Treatment for printing is covered. Winding, tension and roll quality follow. Converting is addressed: bag making, sealing, and the seal integrity testing that predicts field failure. Film testing is covered across thickness, tensile, dart impact and seal strength. The course closes on scrap, reclaim and downgauging without losing performance.
