Manufacturing and ProductionBlow Moulding and Container Manufacturing
A blown container has to hold its contents, survive a drop test and stack in a warehouse, all from a wall that the process distributes rather than the designer specifies. This course covers controlling that distribution. Delegates work through extrusion blow moulding and injection stretch blow moulding, and the products and volumes each suits. Parison programming is treated in detail, since it is the principal tool for putting material where the container needs it. Preform design and reheat profiles are covered for stretch blow. Mould cooling and cycle time follow. Container performance testing is addressed: top load, drop, burst and leak, with the failure each reveals. Wall thickness measurement and weight control are covered, since resin is the dominant cost. Neck finish, closure compatibility and sealing follow. Defects are diagnosed, including pearlescence, uneven distribution and pinch off failures. The course closes on lightweighting without losing performance.
