Building Information Modelling for Project Managers

Building information modelling changes how a project is coordinated, procured and handed over, and a project manager who treats it as a drawing tool loses most of its value. This course covers managing it. Delegates work through what a model actually contains and the levels of information need that govern it, the information delivery plan and the responsibilities it assigns, and the common data environment. Clash detection and coordination workflows are covered, along with model based quantities and their use in cost control. Procurement and contractual implications receive attention, including who owns the model. The course closes on handover into asset management.
