Auditing Corporate Governance

Auditing governance is harder than auditing a process, because the subject is judgement and behaviour rather than transactions. This course builds a workable method. Delegates cover the scope of a governance audit, the evidence available from board papers, minutes and decision records, the assessment of committee effectiveness, and the review of delegation, authority and conflict of interest management. Substantial attention goes to reporting: a governance audit finding implicates senior people, and the course covers how to evidence a conclusion well enough that it survives the response it will provoke.
